Study on stabilities of the formation of petroleum ether and water emulsion with Triton X-100 as surfactant

With Triton X-100 as emulsifier,the formation of petroleum ether and water emulsion be prepared by magnetic stirring,ultrasound and combined method,respectively.The stability of emulsion was measured by using illuminometer.Investigate the effect of emulsification time,emulsification temperature,emulsifier concentration and ultrasonic power on the emulsion stability.The results suggested that emulsion stabilization time of combined method,emulsification time was 15 min,the maximum of emulsion stability time was 2 900 min.The emulsion was prepared in 30 ℃ to 50 ℃ by combined method,lower temperatures are conducive to the stability of the emulsion.The best stable emulsion was prepared in ultrasonic power 480 W and stable time was 3 500 min.With the increasing in the amount of emulsifier,the emulsion stability time increase.
