摘要
OTC has begun manufacturing the 5-nine-grade(99.999wt%) high purity titanium by the Kroll process in 1991.The Kroll process is the most preferred of the all due to its productivity and energy efficiency. To produce high purity TiCl4 a more sophisticated distillation tower is utilized. Magnesium used as the reduction agent is a byproduct of MgCl2 electrolysis. Only magnesium harvested from the Nickel-free electric cell is used for the 5-nine-grade.The interior of reaction furnaces for the 5-nine-grade are covered with pure iron in magnesium reduction of TiCl4.In the crushing process only the center of the sponge masses is harvested and then it is cut into chunks with a guillotine. The sponge is formed into precise shaped electrodes and melted in dedicated molds, then melted to the ingot by VAR The ingots are forged into billets. The billets are machined with a lathe. undergone some testing and became final products.
