摘要
Ovarian hemangiomas are extremely rare benign tumors with less than 50 reported cases in the English literature. These tumors are usually small and asymptomatic found incidentally during operation and autopsy. The ovaries have a rich vascular supply and the rarity of vascular tumors in the ovary is therefore surprising. We encountered a case of ovarian hemangioma during histopathological examination of autopsy specimen of salpingo-oophorectomy with the uterus of 31 year old women; suspected case of poisoning who had died in civil hospital. She was admitted with complaint of an acute abdomen and vomiting. Microscopically, the lesion showed numerous blood vessels lined by a flat single layer of endothelial cells and filled with red blood cells. The aim of this article is to stress on that small lesions are missed at the time of autopsy.
