摘要
Abstract Silicone rubber (SR), a common medical‐grade polymer used in medical devices, has previously been modified for nitric oxide (NO) releasing capabilities. However, the effects of material properties such as film thickness on NO release kinetics are not well explored. In this study, SR is used in the first analysis of how a polymer's thickness affects the storage and uptake of an NO donor and subsequent release properties. Observed NO release trends show that a polymer's thickness results in tunable NO release. These results indicate how crucial a polymer's thickness is to optimize the NO release in an efficient and effective method.
