Transition‐Metal‐Free Chichibabin‐Type Coupling of Halo‐azaarenes with Grignard reagents

Abstract A Chichibabin‐type coupling of halo‐azaarenes with Grignard reagents under transition‐metal‐free conditions is developed. The alkylation and arylation of azaarenes can be achieved by the reaction of Grignard reagents with azaarenium salts mediated by BTC/DMAP/DCM system. It has practical value for preparing functionalized azaarenes.
