TiAl bonded diamond composites were fabricated by self-propagation high-temperature reaction from Ti / Al / Diamond powders. Effects of different raw materials ratio and ignited temperature on bonding status between diamond and binders were studied. The samples were analyzed by XRD,SEM with EDS. The result showed that SHS reaction occurred if igniting at 700 ℃. TiAl phases were obtained by SHS. Meanwhile, the coating was formed on the surface of diamond. When the mass fraction of diamond was around 25 % with n( Ti) ∶ n( Al) = 3∶ 1,the coating was denser with the TiAl phase better developed.
