Abstract CON-type aluminoborosilicate zeolites with Si/Al ratios of 270 and 20 were prepared and used as the seed crystal. The effect of the Si/Al ratio in the seed crystal on the crystallization of CON-type aluminoborosilicate zeolites was investigated. The high-Al-containing seed crystal was more stable under alkaline conditions than the low-Al-containing CON. The use of high-Al-containing seed crystals led to an increase in the crystallization rate and the formation of uniformly distributed crystals. Finally, the CON-type aluminoborosilicate zeolite synthesized using high-Al-containing seed crystals exhibited a significantly higher catalytic performance in the methanol-to-olefin reaction than that synthesized using low-Al-containing seed crystals.
