摘要
Abstract The paper focuses on some of the initial challenges in building standardized and shared accident/incident1 databases. Results from user inquiries, system evaluations, and analysis of accident/incident data in a specific reporting system are included. Results show that the work with accident/incident databases in Norwegian oil & gas industry has led to several positive effects such as an increased number of reported incidents, increased safety focus and improved data quality. However, implementing standardized accident/incident information systems has not been unproblematic. The relation between a standardized database structure and local adjustments is perceived as problematic, and likewise to use the accident/incident data beyond mere information processing. In addition, traditional problem areas within accident/incident reporting such as information quality, local use of the information, and lack of successful experience transfer were present.
