В статье рассматриваются вопросы о роли пунктуации в произведениях художественной литературы. Проведен анализ существующих точек зрения на природу авторской пунктуации и пунктуационной синонимии. Мы считаем целесообразным разграничение понятий «авторская пунктуация» и « явление пунктуационной синонимии», которые являются составляющими авторского знака. The analysis of existing standpoints on the nature of author's punctuation and punctuation synonymy is carried out. We consider that it is reasonable to delimit the concepts of “author’s punctuation” and “punctuation synonymy phenomena”, which are the components of the author’s punctuation mark.
