SURFACE GRAFTING OF COUPLING AGENTS ON THE Al_2O_3-SiO_2-TiO_2 MEMBRANES

Surface grafting of vinyltriethoxysilane on the Al2O3-SiO2-TiO2 ceramicmembraneswere reported. Vinyltriethoxysilane was grafted on membrane surface by oxo-bridging while reactionoccurred between ethoxyl groups of vinyltriethoxysilane and surface hydroxyl groups of the membranes.Number of grafted molecule increased with modification temperature and vinyltriethoxysilane concentration, and it grew linearly with modification time. Moreover, no cross-linking occured among thegrafted agents on membrane surface.
