Evaluation of Aerodynamic Damping in Wind-induced Vibration of Tall Buildings by Random Decrement Technology

The time series of acceleration responses in along wind, across wind and torsional directions of tall buildings are obtained by wind tunnel tests of aero elastic model, and the aerodynamic damping ratios are analyzed and evaluated by using the random decrement technique (RDT). The investigation of the experiment provides an approach and reference for evaluation of aerodynamic damping in wind induced vibration of tall buildings.
