To investigate the residues and elimination pattern of clenbuterol in commercial broiler,100 commercial broilers were randomly divided into two groups and feed with 1 or 3mg/kg clenbuterol dietary, starting from 29 day-age.The serum was sampled at different time points and the residues of clenbuterol were analyzed by the method of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).The results showed that the clenbuterol was absorbed quickly by broilers, which can be detected in serum at the first day post treatment and the quantity of clenbuterol reached peak at 5th and 21th day.The residues of clenbuterol in broilers feed with 3mg/kg dietary were much higher than those feed with 1mg/kg dietary. The residues concentration of clenbuterol in serum decreased rapidly in the first 3 days and then decreased gradually during the subsequent withdrawal time.
