Metal Complexes of Macrocyclic Ligands. XII. A Complexone‐like Tetraazamacrocycle

Abstract The complexone‐like tetraazamacrocycle 1 (LH 4 ) forms a series of metal complexes with Co 2+ , Ni 2+ , Cu 2+ and Zn 2+ (M 2+ ) of the type MLH 2 , ML 2− and M 2 L, which have been isolated and characterized by VIS., IR. and NMR. spectroscopy. Based on these results tentative structures for the different species are proposed.
