Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Tetra-substituted Phthalocyanines and Metallophthalocyanines

Phthalocyanines(Pcs),Chloroindium phthalocyanines(ClInPcs) and oxotianium phthalocyanines(OTiPcs) 6a-6c,7a-7c were generated by cyclotetramerisation of phthalonitrile derivatives(3) and(5) in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo undec-7-ene(DBU) as the catalyst.Taking 4-nitrophthalonitrile(1) or 3-nitrophthalonitrile(4) with 2-isopropyl-5-methylphenol(2) as the starting materials,the corresponding phthalonitrile derivatives(3) and(5) were prepared.All the compounds were characterized by 1 H NMR,MS,UV/Vis and elemental analysis,which were consistent with the proposed structures.
