Osteoporosis:Osteoporosis is a systemic disease that affects the skeleton and is characterised by reduced bone mass and deterioration of the bone structure.The direct consequence is increase in bone fragility, resulting in fractures even with little mechanical force.It is the most common complication of metabolic bone diseases.Simply put, osteoporosis is a systemic disease marked by increased incidence of fractures [1,2].Osteoporosis is roughly divided into idiopathic and secondary.Idiopathic osteoporosis is further divided into type I and type II osteoporosis.These two types were previously known as postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis respectively [3].
