Studies on the cohort retention of MSM with negative anti-HIV antibody and its related factors

Objective To study the cohort retention of anti-HIV negative MSM and its related factors.Methods Cohort data was obtained from Zhejiang province in 2011.Chi-square test and logistic regression model were used to analyze factors affecting the retention including sociodemographic characteristics,HIV/AIDS knowledge awareness,sexual behavior and HIV/AIDS service.Results 226out of 387(58.40%)MSM recruited in the cohort completed the 15-month follow-up study.The retentions were low when answered the question asis HIV infection noticeable by appearance?(OR=0.482,95% CI:0.236-0.983,P0.05),andcan the risk of HIV/AIDS infection be reduced by having only one sexual partner?(OR=0.306,95% CI:0.100-0.942,P0.05)as well as question likehave you had your HIV tested in the last 3months?(OR=0.487,95%CI:0.311-0.762,P0.01).Conclusions HIV/AIDS education and service are necessary but still not enough.MSM AIDS patients should be tested regularly and be followed up.
