AIM:To evaluate heparin stability on heparin-coated cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) circuits.METHODS;Heparin off-rates of CPB stimulation method and immersion method at different time points were determined.RESULTS;At 128 h,different levels of heparin molecule shedding phenomenon were observed in heparin-binding surface in both groups and the heparin off-rate increased with time. The maximum heparin off-rates of the CPB method and immersion method were,respectively,92 and 85 during a certain period of time, with no significant difference between groups.CONCLUSION;Heparin stability on heparin-coated circuits of CPB has relatively stronger heparin binding and is of better clinical use.
