Automatic Grain Size Measurement in Low Carbon Steels by ImageAnalysis

\nGrain size measurement using automatic image analysis\nis performed on low carbon steels from SOLLAC. This method\nallows the assessment and the improvement of the mechanical\nproperties of our steels. The questionable reproductibility of\nmanual methods is overcome. The quality of the system has been\ntested using a statistical approach. It allows to give very\naccurate results (2% in relative value) of the mean linear\nintercept, which describes the grain size.\n
