Nanofiltration for the production of drinking water : State-of-the-art

In this paper, the use of nanofiltration for the production of drinking water is discussed. The separation mechanism is briefly described and further explained through analysis of experimentally obtained retention values. Some applications are given of recent installations where drinking water is produced with nanofiltration. Finally, the prospects of nanofiltration, being part of an integrated membrane system, are discussed.
