摘要
A bacterial strain designated as PAGU 2638 T was isolated from a soil sample collected in Owariasahi, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It was yellow-pigmented, Gram-negative, motile by gliding and aerobic with a rod-shaped morphology. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the strain belongs to the genus Lysobacter within the family Lysobacteraceae , showing high gene sequence similarity to Lysobacter xanthus U8 T (98.1%), Lysobacter terrigena 17J7-1 T (97.8%) and Lysobacter humi FJY8 T (97.7%). The DNA G+C content was 67.8 mol%. The average nt identity (average nt identity values based on blast /average nt identity of orthologous genes based on USEARCH) values between strain PAGU 2638 T and L. xanthus were 81.2% and 81.9%, respectively, while the digital DNA–DNA hybridization value was 24.4%. The major cellular fatty acids were C 16 : 0 iso, summed feature 9 (C 17 : 1 iso ω 9 c /C 16 : 0 10-methyl) and C 15 : 0 iso, and the predominant isoprenoid quinone was ubiquinone-8. The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and diphosphatidylglycerol. Based on phylogenetic, genotypic, phenotypic, biochemical and chemotaxonomic analyses, strain PAGU 2638 T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Lysobacter , for which the name Lysobacter claricitrinus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is PAGU 2638 T (=NBRC 116966 T =CCUG 78027 T ). Furthermore, we propose revisions to biochemical characteristics of the closely related species L. xanthus .
