In 2013, a group of about a hundred oncologists from around the world spoke out against the soaring prices of tyrosine kinase inhibitors, pointing out that unaffordable drug prices prevent many patients from accessing treatment. A study conducted in 2009 showed that France's expenditure on certain cancer drugs was the highest in Europe.
