The metal-rich boride, NbRuB, shows BCS-like superconductivity with a Tc = 3.1 K. The metal element-boron ratio in these compounds plays an important role in the arrangement of the boron atoms. A number of structural arrangements are found with boron substructures ranging from isolated boron atoms to boron fragments.
