Kinetics of formation of excimer XeF(B) in photoexcitation of an Xe–F2mixture

An investigation was made of the processes of degradation of the excitation energy in an Xe–F2 mixture subjected to monochromatic (Δλ =0.3 nm) radiation which produced XeF excimers (D and B). It was concluded that the formation of XeF excimers on excitation of an Xe–F2 mixture in the region of the atomic absorption of xenon involved participation of excited Xe2 molecules.
