The red mud based particle was produced by red mud powder and applied to lead contaminated soil for in-situ chemical remediation.Soil samples were taken at 5,15,30,60,90 d during the remediation,and then sequential extraction was used to extract the fractions of lead and the contents were determined.The effects of remediation were analyzed by comparing the changes of different forms of lead to the control trail and the restoration conditions were also studied.Experimental results show that the growth of soil pH is gone down as the gradually releasing of OH-from red mud based particle.When the amount of red mud particle is 5% and the soil moisture is maintained 22.10%-26.64%,the significant remediation of lead in contaminated soil is achieved.The contents of ion-exchange and bio-effective are reduced and the largest decreases are 94.50% and 45.95% while the increase of residual is 48.46%.
