The Effect of Music Therapy on Elderly using EPOC EMOTIV EEG Signals for Healthy Happy Years

Music relates to many healing solutions of the human brain. It is a known that the human brain signals are highly governed by music therapy for many solutions like depression, sleep problems, anxiety or, emotional set down. This paper is an approach to find out the music stimuli on older people for distinct frequencies of their emotional state. Ten elderly (8 males and two females, mean $78, \mathrm{SD}=5.4$) within normal conditions inappropriate eight times of meeting for 20 minutes at least. We acquired the EEG signals through the EPC EEG EMOTIV system with 14 channels. In all the sittings, the subjects were maintained at favorable positions focusing that the sound of the music was evident. The system was noticed to be forwarded with increasing sound levels and arousals with valence conditions. The analysis showed the system’s efficiency and a significant drop of alpha signals in the left lobe (p =0.00007), which may be identified as a decline in depression state. The subjects also indicated that there had been a gradual increase in their sleep activities too with the music.
