摘要
There are three different commands to be specified with the three different types of analysis of variances (ANOVAs). The simple one-way uses a “one-way” command. The repeated measures uses a “general linear model” command. The factorial ANOVA uses a “UNIANOVA” command. The output is fairly straightforward with the one-way and factorial ANOVAs – but with the repeated measures ANOVA, the output is complex and tough to navigate. Follow-up contrasts can be performed by doing targeted t-tests. The one-way ANOVA is used in an independent-samples t-test situation, the repeated-measures ANOVA is used in a correlated samples t-test situation, and the third ANOVA does not really have a straight t-test analogy – it is used when we have more than one predictor or independent variable. The factorial ANOVA is similar to the repeated-measures ANOVA in terms of SPSS specification.
