Crystal size distribution (CSD) is a critical property of crystalline products in crystallization processes, significantly influencing both product quality and downstream operations. Consequently, CSD control has become a major focus in crystallization technology. This review highlights key strategies for CSD control, including temperature modulation, seeding, additive usage, and hydrodynamic manipulation. The underlying mechanisms of these approaches are discussed in detail, particularly concerning supersaturation, nucleation, and crystal growth. By providing a comprehensive review of these techniques, this review aims to offer fundamental understandings and practical guidelines for effective CSD control in crystallization processes.
