摘要
Deep eutectic solvents (DES) are novel solvents created by combining two or more components, often a hydrogen bond donor (HBD) and a hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA). This mixture results in a substantial reduction in the solvents’ melting point, mostly owing to the formation of robust hydrogen bonds and interactions between the constituents. The flexibility of DES, which encompasses binary, ternary, quaternary, and natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES), allows for the tailoring of their characteristics to suit different uses. Diphenyl ether (DES) is very attractive because of its low volatility, lack of flammability, and ability to decompose naturally, which makes it a more environmentally friendly substitute for conventional solvents. Their applications include a wide range of industries, including analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and material science. DES, or deep eutectic solvents, improve several processes such as sample preparation, energy storage, medication formulation, and biocatalysis. They promote sustainable practices and adhere to the principles of green chemistry. Ongoing research on DES has the potential for additional breakthroughs in its applications, leading to the development of more eco-friendly chemical processes.
