Abstract In controlled environment chambers with 3 temperatures (12.8, 17.5 and 22.2°C), 2 photoperiods (16 hours and continuous light) and 2 light intensities (21,500 and 43,000 lux) the greatest growth in peas was obtained with the combination of high temperature, continuous light and high intensity. Of 12 cultivars tested, the dry weight of the lowest yielding, ‘Lincoln’, was less than half that of the highest yielding, ‘Laxton's Progress’.
