The physiological functions of calcium-dependent protein kinases in plant calcium signal transduction

The physiological functions of calcium-dependent protein kinases(CDPKs) in plant calcium signal transduction are reviewed.It was found that CDPKs are involved in many physiological processes in plants such as hormones signal transduction,growth and development,formation of cytoskeleton,stress and defense responses,carbon and nitrogen metabolism,regulation of ion channels and so on.The perspective in this research field was also been discussed.
