Progress in Research and Application of Bcl-2 Protein

Bcl-2 is one of Bcl-2 family and is an important protein in apoptosis of cell. It can surpress apoptosis of cell by blocking release of cytochrome C from mitochondrion. So it is used in metablic engineering in order to supressing cell apoptosis in process of pharmaceutical production. The increase in expression of Bcl-2 protein is a character of some kinds of tumours the decrease in expression Bcl-2 can cause death of tumour cells. This article reviews the structure fuction anti-apoptosis mechanism and application of Bcl-2.
