Quindecennial Retrospection on the Trends and Advances in Perovskite Solar Cells

Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs) have acclaimed their potential in the arena of photovoltaic technology due to their high efficiency, low cost, and tunable properties in the recent past.Recent advances focus on improving stability, efficiency, and scalability, with power conversion alongside its augmented efficiencies (>25%).The innovations primarily include better materials for the Perovskite layer, improved interfaces, and hybrid tandem configurations with silicon.In abreast, research into flexible and large-scale manufacturing methods holds promise for commercial viability and economic feasibility.The present review highlights the advent of PSC technology, exploring challenges such as long-term durability and scalability while assessing their potential for transforming solar energy generation.
