Objective To explore the therapeutic strategies of ruptured middle cerebral artery aneurysms(MCAAs).Methods The clinical data of 25 patients with ruptured MCAAs treated by microsurgical or endovascular approaches from Jan.2011 to Jan.2012 were analysed retrospectively. Results The aneurysms necks were successfully clipped in 23 patients, and endovascular coiling was performed in 3 patients.According to GOS,the curative effects were good in 20 patients, poor in 3,and 2 died.No regrowth or rebleeding occurred during a follow up from 6 to 12 months in 23 survivors. Conclusion Sufficient preoperative assessment and precise therapeutic strategies underlie the successful treatment of ruptured middle cerebral artery aneurysms.
