The macromonomer with double bond and long chain of polyoxyethylene, which was used as the monomer of polycarboxylate high range water-reducer, was prepared by the esterification of polyoxyethylene ether and acrylic acid. The influence of n(acid)/n(alcohol), catalyst content, reaction temperature and reaction time on the conversion rate of carboxyl was discussed. The structure of macromonomer was characterized by FT-IR spectrum. The experimental results proved that the proper technologic conditions for the preparation of polyoxyethylene acrylate macromonomer are as follow: the n(acid)/n(alcohol) is 1.5, the catalyst content is 1.2%, the reaction temperature is 130 °C and the reaction time is 8 h. The results show that the macromonomer with proleptic structure is obtained assuredly.
