Synthesis of a Metal–Organic Framework, Iron-Benezenetricarboxylate, from Dry Gels in the Absence of Acid and Salt

A nanoporous metal–organic framework (MIL-100(Fe)) has been synthesized by dry gel conversion for the first time from metallic iron and trimesic acid in the absence of any acid (excluding organic linker), salt, or fluoride.
