The relationship between metabolic syndrome criteria and preeclampsia in primigravid women.

Based on the results of this study, it was found that in subjects with the metabolic syndrome during pregnancy, the risk for preeclampsia in the second half of pregnancy was higher than in the general population. In this respect, with the design of preventive programs, such as weight management and lowering harmful blood lipids, this complication in pregnancy can be prevented to some extent, or its serious complications can be decreased by early diagnosis. Controlling these indicators before pregnancy as preconception care for individuals at high risk of preeclampsia is recommended.
