摘要
The increasing complexities and vulnerabilities in globalised supply chains, exacerbated by recent crises such as pandemics, climate change, and geopolitical disruptions, have underscored the urgent need for sustainable and resilient supply chain management. The growing interdependence of global trade networks makes them more susceptible to disruptions, highlighting the importance of digital transformation in mitigating risks and enhancing efficiency. Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and big data analytics play a crucial role in driving digital transformation, offering promising solutions to address these challenges. This chapter examines how digital advancements can be strategically leveraged to build sustainable and resilient supply networks aligned with broader sustainability objectives. It explores key aspects of supply chain sustainability, resilience, and circular economy practices while highlighting the transformative role of emerging digital technologies. The discussion also delves into the challenges and barriers faced by organisations during digital transitions, emphasising the need for strategic implementation. The findings indicate that digital transformation is facilitating the shift of traditional supply chains towards a new phase of digitalisation, integrating data-driven insights to optimise performance and minimise environmental impact. However, while digital technologies present significant benefits, their adoption also comes with challenges such as cybersecurity threats, high implementation costs, and the need for skilled personnel. The chapter also explores future trends, including quantum computing, digital twins, and 5G technology, which are expected to revolutionise supply chains further. These technological advancements will reshape global supply chain management, making it more adaptive, efficient, and sustainable in the years to come.
