The photocatalyst of Cu-TiO2 was prepared by photodeposition on TiO2.Using Rose bengal as a sensitizer,we prepare the photocatalyst of Rose Bengal-Cu-TiO2 which has photoactivity under visible light(λ≥420nm).The photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction and UV-vis absorption spectra techniques. The photocatalytic activities of the photocatalysts were investigated by the photocatalytic hydrogen generation from water under visible light. The results indicated that loading Cu enhanced TiO2 adsorption to visible light. The influences of loading Cu on the photocatalytic activity of photocatalyst were investigated,it was found that the optimal amount of Cu loading was 5wt%.The adsorption amount of Cu-TiO2 photocatalyst to dye Rose bengal was enhanced compared with the pure TiO2.Therefore the absorption to visible light and photocatalytic activity of Cu-TiO2 were improved.
