Grain-size characteristics of aeolian deposits and sediment action in prevent-sand system of Taklimakan Desert Highway

Sand samples were collected in the section of prevent-sand system of Taklimakan Desert Highway at K290.Through analyzing the grain-size characteristics of samples,we drew some important conclusions.Firstly the clay and silt contents in surface layer of shelterbelt increased greatly and mean grain-size of samples became fine from moving sand area to shelterbelt due to the changes of the surface properties.We can get that the benefit of prevent-sand system was not weakening.Secondly,the sand sorting became better from moving sand area to fix-sand system,and the sand sorting in straw checkerboard area was the best,which was different from other's results because of smoothness of the platform in fix-system area at K290.
