INTERCULTURAL SENSITIVITY IN A SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY: RESULTS OF A STUDY

The article presents the results of the study of intercultural sensitivity in the scientific environment. Intercultural sensitivity is an integral element of effective intercultural interaction. The empirical study was conducted using the ICSI (Intercultural Sensitivity Inventory) methodology, which identifies five scales of intercultural sensitivity: involvement in interaction, respect for cultural differences, confidence in interaction, pleasure in communication, attention to interaction. The stages and results of the empirical study are described. The conclusions about the peculiarities of intercultural sensitivity for ethno-cultural target segments of Belarusians, Kazakhs, Armenians and Kyrgyz are formulated; about the need to adapt advertising and information materials of a scientific organization to the cultural peculiarities and preferences of different target groups.
