FeY catalyst was prepared by ion exchange with iron immobilized on NaY zeolite, and used for catalytic degradation of dye methylene blue wastewater by heterogeneous photo-Fenton process to study its catalytic degradation property, reusability and reproducibility. Results indicated that 97% color and 84% COD removals could be attained by UV light irradiation for 60min at 25 ℃,1 g/L FeY catalyst,4 mmol/L H2O2 and pH 4.By comparison,it was found that sunlight and UV light irradiation can enhance the degradation of dye, with almost equivalent efficiency. The heterogeneous FeY catalyst has a higher catalytic activity in comparison to homogeneous catalyst.Because of low desorption rate of iron,FeY catalyst can be reused with a good stability.FeY catalyst can be reproduced by calcination at 500 ℃ for 2 h with color and COD removals up to above 90% of the beginning.
