The Influence and Improvement of CPD on HBsAg ELISA Test

Objective To investigate the influence of CPD whole blood preservatives on results of HBsAg ELISA test. Methods 1 ng/ml HBsAg positive serum was diluted into different concentrations by CPD(CPD group) and calf serum (serum group).Each concentration was tested twice and the mean S/CO was selected. It was repeated 20 times for every concentration. Different concentrations diluted by the same dilution and the same concentrations diluted by different dilutions were compared and analyzed. Results (1)The S/CO values of both groups decreased significantly with the increase of dilution. But their curves were different. (2) The S/CO values of the concentrations diluted by different dilutions were statistically different (P0.05).Conclusion The change of concentration of HBsAg positive serum diluted by CPD preservatives is so great that it will affect the result of ELISA test.
