Epidemiological analysis of tuberculosis in Weihui city from 2007 to 2011

Objective To know the epidemiological characteristics of tuberculosis in Weihui City and provide evidence for better control of tuberculosis and development of prevention and control measures.Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis of the data from tuberculosis epidemic situation in Weihui City from 2007 to 2011 was made.Results 1 868 cases of tuberculosis were reported in the whole Weihui City from 2007 to 2011,the annual average morbidity rate was 87.10/100 000,the highest morbidity was 99.46 /100000 in 2007,the lowest morbidity was 53.26 /100 000 in 2011,for each of the years,the morbidity of significant differences(x2=74.162,P 0.001).1 473 cases were farmers and accounted for 78.86 % of the total cases.Most of the tuberculosis cases were in the age group of from 15 to 24 years accounting for 22.27 % of the total cases.The male to female ratio was 2.06∶1,the morbidity of male was higher than that of female(x2=217.161,P0.001).Cases happened in every season at the same time,the occurrence peak of the disease was concentrated from April to June of each year.Conclusion Although the morbidity of tuberculosis showed a reduction trend,we can not be optimistic and the control measures should be strengthened.
