Carbodiimide scaffolds: Efficient and versatile reagents in synthesis of heterocycles

Research on synthesis of heterocyclic compounds is an important challenge in organic synthesis because heterocycles are an important block in the structure of many drugs and pharmaceutical molecules. Carbodiimides are an important compounds and intermediates in organic synthesis. In recent times, synthetic chemists have focused on the utilization of carbodiimide derivatives for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. In this review, we summarized a beautiful anthology of synthetic methods reported for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds from carbodiimide derivatives.
