摘要
In recent years, the widespread adoption of infrared thermometers across sectors such as healthcare, iron and steel, food, agriculture, chemistry, and automotive industries has transformed temperature measurement due to their speed, cost-effectiveness, broad measurement ranges, and practicality. This study addresses the critical need for precise calibration of clinical infrared thermometers, especially those designed for tympanic temperature measurements. Calibration relies on reference sources of infrared radiation, notably ‘blackbodies,’ which play a pivotal role. Adapting these calibration methods to meet the specific requirements of clinical thermometers, crucial for achieving temperature measurement precision, where a 0.5 °C error could yield significant consequences, is a primary challenge.
