Determination of Genipin by Colorimetry Using Amino Acid

A colorimetry method was established to determinate genipin.The optimal color reaction temperature is at 100 ℃ for 10 min with the volume ratio of genipin solvent(0.0768 mg·mL -1) to Arg solvent(0.2 mg·mL -1) 1:1.The method’s measurement range is from 0.76 μg·mL -1 to 30.73 μg·mL -1,the linear correlation is 0.9998,the detection limit is 0.38 μg·mL -1,RSD is 1.6%.This method has the advantages of wide measurement range,low detection limit,and simple operating process,and can be used for quantitative determination of genipin.
