Modification and application of silicone in powder coatings

The recent research progress in the silicone modified powder coatings is reviewed.Features of different modification methods for the powder coating ssystem including mixing silicone additive or resin with general organic resin, using silicone containing resin or using silicone resin just as a curing agent are described.The introduction of silicone composition to the powder coatings improves some properties and performance of the cured film especially in the thermal stability and weather resistance.The future development tendency and application of silicone modified powder coatings are previewed.
