Inhibition effect of homoharringtonine on telomerase activity of K562 cells

Objective To explore the inhibition effect of homoharringtonine (HHT) on telomerase activity of K562 cells.Methods The telomerase activity of K562 cells was examined by telomeric repeat amplification protocol (TRAP),enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and p olyacrymide gel electrophoresis (PAGE).Results After treating K 562 cells with HHT at 0.01～5.00 μg/ml for 48 hours,the level of telomer ase activity in K562 cells decreased from 1.203±0.078 to 0.054±0.017 in a dose - and time-dependent manner.Conclusion HHT can inhibit the te lomerase activity of K562 cells effectively.\;
