摘要
The MYB transcription factor family is one of the largest family members which have diverse functions in plants. However, there have been limited studies on the identification and characterization of MYB transcription factors in the P. somniferum (opium poppy) genome. In this study, we performed the chemical properties prediction, chromosome location, gene structure, protein motif, phylogeny, and gene expression analysis. We identified a total of 175 MYB genes from the opium poppy genome. The sequence analysis of PsMYBs compared with AtMYB genes and classified into 24 subgroups and distributed on 11 chromosomes. Chromosome 2 included the highest number of genes. Organ-specific expression profile analysis from leaf, stem and root RNA-seq data of opium poppy showed that among identified PsMYBs, 111 of them were expressed in at least one organ. Our genome-wide analysis of PsMYB genes will help future functional genomic searches on opium poppy MYB transcription factor genes and probably other secondary metabolite producing plants.
