Relationship between organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior in sports organization through meta-analysis

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect size of the relationship between organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior in sports organization through meta-analysis. Findings from 8 journal articles and 4 dissertations were used to test the relationship between organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior in sports organization via the comprehensive meta analysis (CMA) program. Study results are as follows: First, results showed that organizational commitment have a medium effect on organizational citizenship behavior, with an effect size of .284. Second, the most influential effect size of organizational commitment sub-factors was normative commitment, followed by affective commitment and continuous commitment. Third, in predicting organizational citizenship behavior, organizational commitment in sports organization had a most positive effect on, in order of, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, civic virtue, courtesy and altruism.
